Can I use a hand iron for this process instead of a heat press? 
Not really - you really need to use a heat press.

What kind of fabrics can I apply the metal leaf to?
Any fabric that can take the heat of 350 - 375 degrees for 25 seconds and
the pressure. We STRONGLY suggest you test and practice on some scrap
pieces of the material you plan to use BEFORE doing a finished project. We
can test your fabric for a small fee.

What can I use to cut the adhesive paper? 
Just about anything - scissors, craft knife, rotary cutting tool, etc.
Anything that you can cut from the adhesive paper can be applied to fabrics. 
We'll also provide cutting methods for those who have cutters for sign vinyl.

Do I need any needed item not provided in the kit? Yes, you will need
a roll of cooking parchment paper - the Reynolds brand works well.

What about washing?
We suggest you wash the garment by hand in warm water using a mild
detergent and drip dry. If you use a washing machine turn the garment
inside out. Wash in cold or warm water and dry it on a low heat setting.

Can I use adhesive paper or leaf other than what was provided in the kit?
Most any type of similar metal leaf may work. We know the materials we
sell are compatible. If the instructions are followed correctly you will obtain
quality results. We cannot provide support for any methods or materials used
other than what we provide. If we develop additional uses for this process the
 information will be posted on the website.
